A nursing class at FIU

Florida International University's School of Nursing is now a free-standing college, dubbed the College of Nursing & Health Sciences. The move is aimed at attracting more students. In addition, FIU's Foreign-Educated Physician to Nursing program is now a permanent offering.

Both initiatives hope to ease the state's nursing shortage.
